Musiikki & Media 19.10.2012 15.30-16.15 / Ruukki: Manageri - kuluerä, domina vai partneri?
Maailmalla jo vuosikymmenien ajan artistin tärkein yhteistyökumppani eli manageri on ammattikuntana syntymässä vahvasti vihdoin myös Suomeen. Mitä etua artistille ja koko musiikkibusinekselle on manageriportaasta? Tulisiko Suomi toimeen ilman managereita?
Tiukkatempoisessa paneelissa haastetaan luutuneita näkemyksiä managereista ja kuullaan kokemuksia kentän eri laidoilta genrerajoista välittämättä. Mukana mm. vuoden 2011 manageriksi valittu Virpi Immonen, vuoden 2011 agentiksi valittu Elina Orma ja Berliinistä käsin operoiva Jonas Verwijnen. Paneelin tuottaa Music Manager's Forum Finland ry.

FIM, International Federation of Musicians, is launching a petition requesting EU Commissioner Siim Kallas to take account of the musicians' concerns when updating EU regulation 261/2004 on air passenger rights (currently under review). Professional musicians who need to travel on planes with their instrument to execute their job are faced with unpredictable, often unfair treatment by Airlines Companies. As not being allowed to go on board with one's instrument generally means not traveling at all, such situations generally result in lost job opportunities.
You are therefore kindly requested to: sign the online petition and share this information with as many contacts as possible. Sign petition online!

As summer slips away, a timely reminder to all IMMF/MMF chapters and our members - ITS NOT TOO LATE to participate at Popkomm 2010. The return of Popkomm, after a 1 year hiatus-as part of Berlin Music week is sure to be a major International music industry gathering. There will be an IMMF Council meeting on September 8, followed by a networking event under the headline Meet the Managers from 5 til 6 pm. This event will be promoted and hosted by Popkomm.
Attached is the registration application. It enables all our members to register for just 71,43 euros! The official rate for a 4 day pass is currently 236 euros. Great thanks to Volker May, Jake & IMMF for making this all happen.
